Where it all began...
Let me begin by telling you the story of how the idea for Halloway and all its characters began, starting with Buddy and Guy. I promise to keep it short for you.
At the time, I was going through a pretty rough patch. There were a lot of changes happening, most of them not good ones, and I was in a pretty bad place. It was time for me to do some serious soul searching...
So I began to think about what I really wanted in the time I have left. Not just what I would need to "make it," but what I really wanted. What would make me feel like I had truly accomplished something.
The one thing that kept popping up was how I had always wanted to be an author. Not a writer, mind you, but an author. Someone who didn't just write, but who created worlds that exist only in their imagination until they allowed themselves to share those places with the rest of the world.
At first I didn't think I could do it. I wasn't some skilled wordsmith. In fact, I averaged a B- at best in English class in high school. How would I actually be able to do something like this?
Then someone told me something so simple, yet it resonated with me so deeply that I decided, why not?
He said, "Of course you're gonna suck at first, but you'll get better. Besides, how will anyone know how amazing my Demigod tier hair is unless you tell them? So stop doubting yourself and just do it already, bio-bag!"
To which I replied:
"Okay Buddy, but I refuse to go on and on about your hair. It's fantastic, I admit, but dude it's not all about you, bro."
Needless to say, I didn't quite follow through on that one, but whatcha gonna do?
He was born, and Halloway began to take on a life of its own, and now I'm just along for the ride and here to tell their story.
So, with that being said... I hope you enjoy reading about Halloway and all the amazing characters who live there as much as I enjoy writing about them.

P.D. Brown is the creator of the Guy and His AI series, an ever-expanding journey through Halloway where supernatural mysteries, artificial intelligence, friendship, growing pains, and an alarming amount of chaos have a habit of colliding. A lifelong fan of fantasy and science fiction, P.D. spent years exploring other people's imaginary worlds before finally deciding to create one of his own. He didn't originally set out to write specifically for young adults; he simply began telling the story he wanted to tell. While very little of P.D. himself intentionally finds its way into Halloway, his somewhat warped sense of humor is another matter entirely. Above all, he wants his stories to be fun: a place readers can escape to for a while, characters they can care about, mysteries that keep them wondering what's coming next, and adventures that leave them laughing long after they've turned the page.
P.D. also states that the stories are meant to be fun. Period. If anyone happens to learn, adapt, or grow through his stories, he says (and I quote):
"Don't look at me. I didn't plan that."
